The Light of Christ

Today we celebrate the feast of Epiphany, remembering St. John the Baptist preparing the way for our Lord to come to us and shine His light upon us.

I'm sure you've all heard the Gospel story about 3 wise men making a long journey, following a bright star, to that lowly manger where our new born Savior lay wrapped in strips of cloth.

This story is most appropriate for all of us today! We all stumble around this earth, looking for that ray of hope, that guide that draws us into the love of God. Like the wise men, our joy overflows when Christ comes to us through others, through prayer, and through every day, mundane things.

The real joy of today is that part of the celebration of this feast, 3 people were baptized at Christ Episcopal Church. Like the wise men, they all came from a distant place, following that light of hope that beckons them to love and to be loved in Christ.

I would like to congratulations to drjones79 on the day of his new birth into the Body of Christ. It's a long journey, and it may not always be easy, but it will most certainly be worth it.

Welcome to the family.
